Like other O'Reilly cookbooks, the book aims to provide readers with a collection of practical solutions to common real-world problems that AIR developers face. Recently I was asked by O'Reilly publishing to give a book review for Paul Teetor new introductory book to R. Mainly these recipes are about installing the interfaces, not about using them and then, there is only a small example of using them. This is why I am putting my hands on it right In my opinion it goes well together with R Cookbook by Paul Teetor or with R in a Nutshell by Joseph Adler. O'Reilly have released the long awaited Ruby Cookbook by Lucas Carlson and Leonard Richardson, a 906 page bonanza of Ruby recipes, tips and tricks. R Cookbook: Over 200 recipes for R users, ranging from the basic to the esoteric. Or so the title and subtitle Then other languages are covered: Matlab and Octave (but it seems that the author forgot going back from Matlab to Numpy and the fact that Matlab changed its I/O format and went to HDF5), R, Java and the Google App Engine. R graphics cookbook is already on shelves – and I have missed it's release! What I have found Amazon (Kindle): R Graphics Cookbook. Numpy Cookbook is a list of several dozens recipes to use Numpy. The jQuery cookbook is a recently released book from O'Reilly that covers all aspects of jQuery and tackles common client-side quandaries with a well-thought out arsenal of recipes.
